Midland Archaeological Services (MAS) was formed in 2009, as an independent buried and built heritage practice by Steve Williams, a well proven archaeologist with nearly 30 years’ experience in the commercial heritage sector.
Steve Williams is Principal Archaeologist at MAS and has been involved in archaeology since the early 1990s, graduating from the Institute of Archaeology University College London in 1996 with a degree in Medieval Archaeology. He has worked extensively throughout the UK for a number of professional archaeological companies and trusts, and has gained a broad knowledge of British Archaeology. He has particular interest in British prehistory and historic buildings, is a trained historic building specialist, and a full member (MCIfA) of the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (CIfA).
